What's in the Oracle HCM RUP15?

I always love this time of year. The leaves on the trees all turn orange, you can see your breath in the air as winter descends. There is a sense of change in the air.

This sense of change in the air can be felt at many of our Oracle E-Business Suite Payroll customers, whose thoughts will be focused on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) as we enter the sweet spot for Roll Up Patching (RUP).

Early Adopters will have identified any known issues, leaving enough time for patches to be UAT’ed with confidence and deployed before the Christmas rush.

For anyone having recently moved to Oracle EBS R12.2, RUP may be their first sight on the new Online Patching approach which promises less downtime from a controlled and predictable Online Patching cycle.

This years’ RUP (RUP15) delivers little to get too excited about functionality-wise…

Oracle Human Resources Introduces:

  • Calculate Accruals Using Element functionality, allows you to calculate PTO Accrual either by Absence Start Date or Element Start Date. This should help even out Absence spanning multiple Pay or Accrual periods.
  • A Collective Agreement Entitlement Evaluation process, supporting employees with multiple entitlements

Advanced Benefits provides for PDF output options of both the Eligibility and Enrollment List (XML) and Default Enrollment Audit Log (XML) reports.

You can define a maximum number of Learners for a Class Waitlist in Learning Management and in Oracle Time and Labor, the Rollback programs have been enhanced to process rollbacks even if the corresponding batches have been purged from BEE and/or from the Element Entries themselves. You can also set the default period(s) of focus for the Timecard Dashboard via a profile option.

It’s all small stuff, but useful nonetheless.

If you’d like to know more about RUP or about maximising your investment in Oracle E-Business Suite HCM, do not hesitate to get in touch with our HCM Managed Services Team. Our HCM Team collectively has 80 years of experience and makes sure the small stuff counts!
