The newly wed team Martina and Mark, our CEO, are running three half marathons in aid of the UKs leading children’s charity, Barnardo’s this autumn.
As a celebration of their marriage, they have chosen three fantastic courses listed below:
- Great North Run on 10th September 2017
- Blenheim Half Marathon on 1st October 2017
San Francisco Half Marathon on 15th October 2017– cancelled- **New** River Thames Half Marathon on 29th October 2017
Unfortunately, the San Francisco Half Marathon was cancelled due to poor air conditions, however this hasn’t stopped our formidable pair as they have replaced it with the River Thames Half Marathon.
The first two races were successfully completed by the pair, running together. The first race saw Martina achieve a personal best of 2 hours 5 minutes and the second, a more scenic route has set them up perfectly for the final race which is to be completed this weekend.
Plus, if the half marathons wasn’t enough, Martina also took part in a Tough Mudder on the 23rd September. She came away with bruises like nothing you’ve seen before!
Working with charities is part of our ethos at Claremont and we are proud to support Mark and Martina with their amazing dedication to such a great cause. As a long standing customer, we have worked in partnership with Barnardo’s and watched the way they transform the lives of the UKs most vulnerable children.
